Some of the most important steps in developing sites as resilience hubs, spaces and blocks are doing an analysis of what they already have. During the summer of 2020 I worked with three amazing college students from the Climate Action Corps Fellows program to advance the work of the sites enrolled in the resilience hubs leadership training program. The Fellows visited 20 sites to perform a site analysis, from a tiny home village to the West Oakland Environmental Indicators Project to Temple Beth Shalom in San Leandro. They also wrote up several case studies and created resources pages for the hubs, spaces and blocks to continue to support their development as hubs. These resources will undoubtedly continue to be valuable resources for any site wanting to develop as a resilience hub, especially the state of California’s committed $100 million investment in Community Resilience Centers (aka, resilience hubs). The successful collaboration with resilience hubs and Climate Action Corps Fellows is also a promising one which could continue to expand as California continues to evolve its Climate Action Corps
